Abstract

Rackets.-Fraying of the strings of a tennis racket due to mutual friction is prevented by inserting leather or other elastic washers 3 between the strings at their points of contact. Grooves are pressed in the washers for the reception of the strings. A tool consisting of a forked lever 6 is used to separate the strings prior to the insertion of the washers. The tool or the handle of the racket may serve as a receptacle for the washers.
