22,566. Evans, A. C. Oct. 7. T y r e attachments to rims.- A wheel rim comprises a main part a carried by the spokes and a detachable part b having lugs a<1>, b<1> respectively. Bolts c passing through the lugs b', and secured therein by thin nuts &c. d, screw into the lugs a<1>. The bolts are locked by oppositely-threaded studs e passed through loose brackets f and screwing into the heads of the bolts as shown. To facilitate manipulation, the fixed part a carries a centring-stud l to engage a corresponding lug n on the part b. The air-tube is protected from the spoke-heads by a canvas band i, and a rubber or like packing-ring k is fitted in the part b, which is slotted to clear the spokes.
