Carding - engines. - During the grinding of the main cylinder A and the doffer B, the doffer is driven without crossing the main driving- belt by a crossed rope F from a grooved extension of the loose pulley a<1>. The main cylinder is driven by a belt f from the doffer shaft on the opposite side of the machine. The grinding- rollers E are driven by ropes c<2>, e<3> from pulleys on the main cylinder shaft.
