21,427. Theisen, H. E. Sept. 23. Rotary apparatus.-Relates to atomizing- apparatus for washing and otherwise treating gases. The spraying-pipes c, Fig. 1, are mounted in the disk G<1>, which covers the annular water-supply passage a. An additional ring of pipes d is provided, being supplied from the annular passage l, which is connected with the passage a or supplied by a separate pipe f. The spraying-pipes and the bars i are fixed, while the disk is rotated mechanically and carries alternate bars, including the internal set g. The gas to be treated travels radially towards the axis, and in order to avoid the passage of untreated gas past the ends of the heater bars, additional axial jets h are provided. Fig. 7 shows a modification in which there are oppositely rotating sets of bars mounted on disks r, s. The lateral jets are produced by admitting water through the pipes u to the troughs t.
