Abstract
20,814. Tschudy, E. E. Sept. 15. Covers; open-caps. - Detachable covers for umbrellas, parasols, &c. are secured at the centre by means of a cap-piece 15, which is secured to the cover, is slotted to engage a spring latch 12 provided in the stick, and is flared at its lower end for engagement with a bead or shoulder 13 on the stick. The cover is secured to the ribs by means of intermediate stud-and-socket fastenings 11, 18 and terminal sleeves 19. The connexion between the cover and the cap may be concealed by a bow or other ornament.
