Trusses.-In a hernial truss of the kind in which the pad is attached to a spring band connected at its ends to a flexible non-resilient belt, the longer part of the spring band c between the pad d and the point b where it is connected to the belt a conforms to the body without a gripping action, and the other end e is bent outwards and adjustably connected to the end of thebelt. The leg strap f is attached to the pad and to a strap g, which is connected to the belt a. The pad is attached by pins and sockets to a plate adjustably mounted on the spring by means of a bridge-piece and screws.
