Portable-track wheels. -In an endless-track motor-vehicle in which the weight of the vehicle is transmitted to the track by means of roller trucks running on the upper side of the ground - engaging portion of the track, the roller trucks are pivoted centrally to the vehicle so that they can rock within a limited range relatively to the endlesstrack sprocket-wheels, and the sprocket-wheels on opposite sides of the vehicle are mounted independently on short shafts. Fig. 1 shows the arrangement of the roller trucks 6 which are pivoted to the vehicle at 16 and project below the sprocket-wheels so as to relieve them of the weight of the vehicle and also keep them clear of the ground. The rear sprocket-wheels 15 are driven by internal gear-wheels 22 mounted at opposite ends of a through shaft actuated from the motor 13 through a propeller shaft and bevel reversing- gear. The endless-track comprises a series of plates 40 with curved overlapping ends, each plate carrying a pair of parallel skeleton links 41 secured thereto by bolts 47. The links are spaced by end and central interchangeable nshaped sprocket-engaging members 49, the end members being secured by pivot bolts 42 between adjacent links and the central members by lugs 50 and bolts 51. The end and central members 49 are set out of line with each other so as to engage the teeth of the sprocket-wheels correctly. The pivot bolts are partly enclosed by a # - shaped sleeve 43 which leaves the lower portion exposed to an oil-cup 52. The upper edge 46 of the links forms a continuous track for the wheels of the roller trucks.
