Metallic spring bodies and cores.-The flexible tyre casing 4, Figs. 1 and 2, encloses a series of spring elements, each comprising a primary spring, Fig. 6, having two loops 10 and an intermediate portion 8, a secondary spring 14, Fig. 4, resting upon the portion 8 and having S-shaped parts the ends of which rest on the loops 10, and two outer curved or grooved plates 18 bearing against the casing. The primary spring is supported by a carrying-plate 5, between which and a curved plate 25 bearing against the inner part of the casing is arranged a device for forcing the springs outwards which consists of two slotted wedges 27 adjustable lengthways. Buffer blocks 21 of rubber are placed under the loops 10.
