Abstract

25,831. Hele, S. Nov. 11. Spring wheels with continuous outer resilient suspension ring.-The laminated main spring- ring 9, Figs. 4 and 5, is spaced from an outer minor spring-ring 26 by resilient pads 24, and is spaced from the felloe by springs 7 free at the inner ends to slide between guides 5. Straps 12 sliding in guides 11 are stated to confine locally the distortion of the ring. Non-creeping straps 16 in pairs slide in guides 15, which may pivot, and engage stops 10 on the spring. Straps 20, Fig. 1, with springs at their inner ends engaging the felloe, accelerate the inward movement of the spring and damp its rebound. The two rings are connected by retaining-straps 28 or by pivoted lugs, and the outer ring carries solid rubber cushions 35, 36 and spaced circumferential cushions 37; these are held laterally by plates 33. A resilient tread band 43 is carried by a cover band 39, which has tongues 40 connected together inside the main ring by bolts 42.
