Abstract
16,507. Liddle, L. July 18. Dating tickets.-A machine for dating tickets is operated by pushing forward a slide B by means of an operating-handle A which causes the slide to remove the bottom ticket from a tube M and carry it forward to a position in which the ticket is printed on by means of a printing-block C carried by the slide and movable vertically therein. The block C is inked by a roller L which moves up an inclined slot L<1> and finally rests on an arm K attached to the slide near the handle A. A fixed incline O raises the block C as the slide moves forward, and after the printing has been effected through a slot in slide B, a catch E strips the ticket from the slide, and causes it to fall into a tube F which moves with the slide B and handle A. The tube F is provided with a support G the height of which is controlled by a support H suspended in an adjustable manner from the top of the pile of tickets in tube M. The support G slides over the support H in the normal working of the press. When a large number of tickets are dated at once, they are received in the tube F and supported by the support G in the same order as they are placed in the tube M.
