Suspending and supporting.-Rigid bodies, for instance the 'strut in a wire-supporting system, are secured to insulators by extending the rigid body beyond the face of the insulator taking the thrust and providing the extension with one or more flexible members which transfer the load to the insulator. Fig. 1 shows the general arrangement of a line-supporting system embodying a rigid strut 4 and as shown in plan in Fig. 3, the strut 4 is forked as at 9 and the extensions serve to carry a flexible support 10 which may be of copper wire and which beds round the central part of the insulator. An additional support 11 may be provided to pass along the top groove of the insulator.
