Abstract
14,114. Wheeler, J. A. June 18. Fire-resisting doors.-Fire-resisting doors are constructed of an outer frame 1 formed of bars of fire-resisting non-metallic material, covered on both sides with sheets 2. of similar material spaced apart by parallel vertical series of blocks 5, Figs. 2 and 3, or vertical bars 12, Fig. 4, of fire-resisting material, the space between the plates 2 being occupied by corrugated or other metal sheets 7. The metal sheets 7 may be formed with apertures 9 to receive the blocks 5 as shown in Figs. 2 and 3, or the sheets may be arranged as shown in Fig. 4. The sheets 2 and ornamental &c. moulding 14 are secured to the frame 1 and block 5 or bars 12 by means of screws 3, 6, 15, and an adhesive, and the fireresisting material is preferably that described in Specification 1390/12, [Class 87(ii), Moulding plastic &c. substances]. The sheets 7 instead of being continuous may consist of a series of members extending between the blocks 5 or bars 12.
