Abstract

13,303. Harris, E. E. June 9. Roller-blinds, pawl and catch arrangements for.- A blind roller 4 of the springless type has a ratchet-wheel 21 pressed on to its end and secured thereon by a trunnion pin 3 having a shoulder 22. The trunnion 3 is carried in a side plate 2 formed integral with a supporting back-plate 1, which has also another side plate 6 having slots 8, 9 for the trunnions 17, 11 of the pawl plate 10. The pawl plate 10, which carries a sheave 13 on a bearing 12 resting in a notch 7 in the side plate 6, thus has an oblique axis 11, 17, the part 18 of the pawl being heavier so that it normally engages the ratchet-wheel 21. A cord 16 attached to the roller 4 passes round the sheave 13 and is used to remove the pawl 10 from the ratchet-wheel 21 when either raising or lowering the blind by respectively pulling on the same cord or allowing it to slip between the fingers.
