Abstract
12,808. Akt.-Ges. f³r Selas-Releuchtung. June 12, 1912, [Convention date]. Spray burners.-The angle between the longitudinal axis of a liquid-fuel burner and the stream line of the air or other spraying pressure-medium traversing it is made capable of variation so as to alter the character of the flame, without the use of helical guide-passages for the medium. In the construction shown, the air &c. is introduced by a perforated rotatable tube f, having a deflecting-tongue l, into the space k, and passes with fuel from the tube b through the nozzle d. The tongue l may be flexible and operated from the exterior of the burner. The Specification as open to inspection under Section 91(3) (a) states also that the speciallyformed pressure-medium supply tube may be replaced by a rotatable fuel-supply tube provided with a flap, spring, wing, or cam-shaped projection. Also, the burner may be steamjacketed, and steam may be used as the spraying-medium; when compressed air is used, it may be passed through a pre-heating tube in the furnace or furnace structure. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
