Abstract

11,770. Lamblin, A. May 21, 1912, [Convention date]. Trays, dishes, and apparatus with platetransfer arrangements for daylight developing. -The tanks 7, 8, 9 for developing, rinsing, and fixing the plate are supported in a case 6 by the recessed board 3 under a sliding lid 4 fitted with a slot 42 for passing the plates. The lid 4 carries a frame 12 fitted with a sliding plate-carrier 16, which is raised and lowered into the tanks 7, 8 by the handle 18, but is not lowered into the fixing-tank 9, the plate being released from the holder and dropping into the fixing-tanks. The plate in the holder 16 rests on pivoted catches 21, Fig. 3, and on lowering the holder over the tank 9, the catches 21 are tilted by upper ledges 23 of the tank 9, thereby releasing the plate. The lower ledges 24 prevent the holder from being lowered into the tank. The frame 12 is fitted with non-actinic panes 33, 43, and an eyepiece 34 for viewing the plate when the door 37 is open and the holder 16 raised. The box 1 is provided with outside scales for positioning the frame 12 over the different tanks. For developing several plates at a time, the holder 16 may carry several plates and the tanks made correspondingly larger. To transfer the plate from a dark-slide in daylight, the upper box 27 is fitted at the top of the frame 12. The dark-slide is introduced through a door 29. The plate is removed by the hands, which are inserted through light-trapped sleeves 30, and is dropped through the registering slots 31, 26 into the holder 16. For treating colour plates, the baths 8, 9 are replaced by a transparent tank containing a reversing-bath. The eyepiece 34 and window 33 are blocked to keep the chamber 12 dark. After development in the tank 7 and reversion in the substituted reversing-tank, the latter tank is removed, and the plate exposed and finished in daylight
