Ball - bearing hinges and pivots. - A ballbearing applied to the pivot of a garden shears comprises an annular ball race in the outer face of one blade B, and in the inner face of the pivot head E. The stem of the pivot pin is round where it passes through the blade B and squared at I to fit a square hole in the remaining blade and is secured by a nut K with or without a lock nut and preferably with the addition of a spring washer L. The end of the pin preferably has a hexagonal or squared end part G on the head.
