Abstract

10,318. Price, W. G. Oct. 30. Reservoir pens.-Relates to stylographic pens of the kind in which the stylus wire, carried on a stem, is adapted to be advanced or retracted in the nozzle of the pen by means of a screw feed, either for adjusting the position of the wire or for cleaning the nozzle of the pen. According to the invention, the rear end of the stem is rotatably mounted within a fixed tubular guide and is advanced or retracted by means of a pin and helical slot mechanism. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the rear end of the stem 5 is provided with an enlarged end 6 and an operating-button 6a, the part 6 being rotatable within the rear end 1a of the barrel and provided with a helical slot 10 engaged by a pin 11 fixed in the part 1a. The stylus wire 3 is mounted in the usual manner at the lower end of the stem 5. In a modification, shown in Fig. 3, the stem 5 is provided with a stud 11a engaging a helical slot 10@ in a fixed but detachable end-section or guide 13. The cap of the pen may have frictional engagement with the operating-button 6a and so be used as a means for rotating the button.
