9372. Hamilton, B. T. Sept. 20. Piston valves; rotary cylindrical valves.-The cylindrical throttle valve 14 of a carburettor may be independently or simultaneously rotated and moved axially by the driver. It is rotated by a handle 25 on the square spindle 19, and moved axially by a lever 20 which carries pins 22 engaging a collar 21. The ports in the valve and casing are quadrangular.
