Abstract

4121. Wilcock, C., and Peacock, T. W. Feb. 18. Maps of the kind comprising a relief model upon which may be detachably placed labels, flags, or other tokens to indicate towns, landmarks, or other places of interest. According to the invention, in addition to the relief model a map is provided bearing the names of the towns &c. it is desired to indicate by the labels &c., and a blind or other device may be provided for covering the map. The model A and map D may be mounted respectively on the base B and lid C of a box, the base B being pivoted at b to uprights b<1> on a support b<2> so that the box may be turned vertical when out of use. Receptacles may be provided in the base B to receive the labels or flags E, F. The model A may be made in sections, the character of the strata or subsoils being indicated by coloured lines or washes on the vertical edges of the sections.
