4096. Edwards, A. Feb. 17. Kinematograph apparatus. - Films having opaque extensions at each end have a scale of feet or other marks on those extensions. Means whereby the amount of film remaining unexposed or the amount exposed or both may be known comprise spring-controlled levers 11 adapted to bear on the film on either or both of the spools and pointers 14 carried or actuated thereby moving over graduated scales. The upper spool 9 is provided with radial lines or other marks adapted to move past a red window in the side of the camera so that cessation of rotation thereof can be observed and it is thus known when all the film has run off.
