3720. Weiler, W. Feb. 13. Fibrous plastic compositions.-In the manufacture of artificial stone from peat. the peat is dried and cleaned and mixed with powdered cement, powdered water-glass, and magnesia, and the mixture is then soaked with lime-water. After moulding under high pressure, the blocks are allowed to dry for several days. Heat-insulating sleeves &c. made in this way preferably contain also a little animal glue and kieselguhr. An example is 60 parts of peat, 4 parts of cement, 4 parts of soluble glass, 4 parts of magnesia, 6 parts of kieselguhr, 16 parts of glue, and 6 parts of lime-water.
