Abstract
3354. Anderson, R. Feb. 10. Cast-iron processes.-Cast iron containing approximately 2À5 per cent of carbon, 2À00 per cent of silicon, À03 per cent of sulphur, À05 per cent of phosphorus, and 1À00 per cent of manganese is made by mixing molten finished mild steel with molten cast iron obtained direct from the blast furnace or mixer. Additions of ferroalloys may be made if necessary to bring the metal to the above-mentioned composition.
