D i s k apparatus; block, rubber, and like apparatus.-A machine for grinding and polishing articles of glass, marble, or stone comprises a series of rotating work-holders B mounted in a carrier A which also rotates; the disk A is toothed at E and is rotated by a pinion F, and the workholders B have shanks carrying pinions k which engage a fixed gearwheels. A grinding- disk I is continually pressed into contact with the work by an axially movable threaded member H urged forward by a weight O on the rim of a wheel s mounted thereon. The grinding- disk is either rotated or fixed in its bearing carriage K, and is moved to and fro across the work by an adjustable reciprocating movement of the bearing carriage K along the bed L.
