Abstract
1453. Bullows, W. L. Jan. 18. Scaffolding. - Relates to scaffold ties of the kind in which two coupling- members for the lashing- chains &c. are mounted on a screwed rod, and consists in forming the coupling - members with chain-attaching means, as hooks d, or eyes e, on opposite sides of the screws, whereby bending of the screws is avoided. One or more chains may be used and provided with projections to increase the grip upon the poles.
