Abstract

1440. Wade, H., [Hedwigh³tte, Preuss, & Winzen]. Jan. 17. Fatty oils, extracting by reudering. In treating carcases, flesh, &c. with steam for the separation of fats, glue, &c. the materials are placed in a perforated vessel c mounted on balls q in an outer vessel g so that the vessel c may be rotated during the charging and may be held stationary by a latch x during the subsequent treatment. The vessels c, g are provided with agitators m, n on a central spindle l. The materials in the vessel e are treated with steam generated in the vessel g by heating by means of an oil jacket k. The fats are discharged through a pipe h, and the water-containing glue &c. through a pipe i. Further heating, after removal of the water &c. from the vessel g, causes the material to be ground to powder, which falls through the perforations into the vessel g, from which it is removed through a man-hole r.
