Abstract
1218. Moore-Licht Akt.-Ges. April 13, 1912, [Convention date]. Drawings to Specification. Helium; neon.-In a vacuum tube containing helium or neon impurities are removed by means of auxiliary electrodes of an alkali or alkaline-earth metal, zinc, nickel, aluminium, platinum, palladium, or other metal which is pulverized or vaporized by a Geissler discharge and then absorbs the impurities. Near the auxiliary electrodes, so as to be heated thereby, may be placed a material adapted to replenish the tube with the required gas. Such material may be a mixture of cleveite with a metal such as calcium; in every case a drying agent must be placed in an extension of the lighting tube.
