182. Trigwell, J. R. Jan. 3. Siphon bottles.-In porcelain or like siphon heads of the kind described in Specifications 19,239/10, 510/11, and 27,095/11, the conical leakage - prevention washer e is sealed at its apex by a rubber washer e<1> on the valve stem and is supported on the outside by an ebonite or like ring g. To facilitate the charging of the bottle through the spout, the valve washer b<2> is provided with peripheral grooves b<3>, which allow passage of liquid when the washer is forced from its seating by incoming liquid. The washer may be circular, and grooves may be formed in the walls of the recess a<3>. The washer may be of smaller diameter than the recess. The head may be attached by a screwed metal ring a<10>, Fig. 14, spun into a recess in the head and engaging a thread on the outer surface of the bottle neck.
