[Addition to 29,901/10.] Hydrastinine and its homologues are obtained in the form of their salts by the action of condensing-agents upon acidyl derivatives of N- alkylhomopiperonylamines, and treating the resulting bases with acids. Formylmethylhomopiperonylamine is obtained by treating N-methylhomopiperonylamine with formic acid and dehydrating the resulting formate.
