Abstract

Locks, revolving-barrel; preventing drilling. -In a cylinder-lock night-latch, the cylinder 2 is screwed into the bolt casing 1, and is prevented from being unscrewed from the outside by means of a bar 4, a projection 5 on which is adapted to engage a groove 6 in the cylinder. The bar is operated to engage the cylinder, after the parts are in position, by means of a screw 3 actuated from the face-plate of the casing 1. To prevent drilling, the casing is covered by a hardened steel plate 11 which is slotted closely to embrace the cylinder 2, and is pressed firmly against the cylinder by means of screws 14 at the edge of the casing. The plate 11 has a projection 13, which covers the engaging point 5 of the bar 4 and prevents this from being drilled out. The locking-pins are protected against drilling by means of a screw 19 and by a hardened steel ring 18, which is placed in a groove in the revolving barrel and covers the joint between this and the cylinder.
