Luggage-carriers.-In carriers for attachment to cycles &c., having downwardly-extending stays b supporting the outer part of the carrier frame and arms or projections f supporting the inner part thereof, the stays and arms being adapted to engage with sockets or sleeves upon the vehicle frame, the sockets g for receiving the arms are arranged to swivel or turn so as to facilitate the insertion and withdrawal of the arms. The stays b, connected rigidly or by swivelling sleeves b<1> to the carrier frame, fit into sockets c or the like at the lower extremity of the fork d; these sockets may be rigidly fixed in position or they may be free to turn upon their attachment means. The sockets g may be formed by the heads of screws so inserted within the cycle frame as to be capable of turning, or one socket may be provided with an elongated spindle passing through the crown and formed at its end with screw - threads to engage an internally-threaded boss on the other socket, or each socket may have a boss to engage a spindle with both ends screw-threaded, or the sockets may be rotatably connected to clips upon the fork limbs. A screw g<1> holds the arm in position in each socket, and to form a stop to rest on the socket each arm may carry a collar or enlargement or the end portion may be reduced. The sockets c may also have fixing screws or studs c<3>. The arms f may be brazed or otherwise fixed to the carrier frame a, or they may be provided by bending the rod forming this frame. According to the Provisional Specification, the enlargements or collars on the arms f may be used in place of the screws g<1>.
