Projectiles. - Consists in making armourpiercing caps with. an annular groove b, so that the head part a<1> may be forced over to the obtuse-angle side in the case of an oblique impact as shown in Fig. 3, and thereby produce a more uniform distribution of the radial stresses on the point of the projectile e. The groove may be covered by a sheet indicated bv the dotted lines g, or hollow-contour caps may be provided as described in Specifications 16,901/98 and 2817/08.
