Fittings for exteriors of buildings. - A fireescape adapted to travel along the face of a building comprises a trolly B, which is supported from an angle-iron or other runway A and is provided with a double or foursided ladder C, an endless flexible ladder D for lowering purposes, and a life-bucket F suspended by a rope f and pulley f<1> and steadied by a guide-rope f<2>. The endless ladder D passes over a drum E, which is provided with a releasing-pawl e and a band brake e<2>, controlled by means of one or more ropes e', e<3> within reach of a person on the ladder. A helpless person may be secured to the endless ladder by means of a belt or sling provided with a clip or hook and an eye.
