Abstract

20,908. Bruner, L. N. Sept. 13. Tongs &c. for shaping bottle necks by rotation. -The bracket f<1> supporting the rotating dies m and the rests p for the punty o, which carries the bottle a<2>, are secured to the front of the bench g instead of to the top. The central plug a, Fig. 2, is formed with a flange F having a recess a<3> which insures the correct formation of the rim of the neck. The levers m<2>, carrying the outside dies m, are drawn together by a spring n<2>, Fig. 1, and are forced apart by wedges n<1>, Fig. 2, which are moved longitudinally by an horizontal hand-lever h, Fig. 1. The position of the levers m<2> can be adjusted by screws n. The plug a and dies m. are rotated in opposite directions by pulleys j, k.
