Abstract

Tools for shaping bottle necks by rotation.-To ensure uniformity in size and smoothness of surface in bottle mouths, the blowing mould 33 containing the finished bottle is placed in a recess 32 and a rotating grooved mandrel 1 of the desired shape is brought down into the bottle mouth by a hand-lever 7. Between each operation, the frame 5 carrying the mandrel 1 is swung aside so as to bring the mandrel 1 into a flame F, which heats it and coats it with lamp-black. The downward movement of the mandrel 1 is limited by an adjustable stop 12.
