Abstract

Bottles, washing.-In bottle-rinsing machines, of the kind in which the bottles are inverted over upwardly-turned rinsing-pipes radiating from a rotating water tank, and are raised and lowered by means of bottle-supports slidably mounted on the rinsing-pipes and engaging a stationary guide, the bottle-supports are loosely mounted on the rinsing-pipes and rest on the guide so as to be rotated on their axes by rolling contact therewith. Fig. 1 shows one construction of apparatus. The rinsing-pipes f are connected to the rotary tank a, which communicates with a water supply under pressure. Slidably mounted on the pipes fare bottlesupports with conical upper ends for receiving the bottle mouths and with conical lower ends for engaging the bevelled inner surface of the guide g. At the receiving point, the bottlesupports are raised above the top of the rinsing- pipes. During the rotation, the bottles are supported in an inclined position by resting in niches in the periphery of a frame k.
