Economizer valves and valve - gear; reversing- valves.-The main reversing - valve, or an auxiliary valve d, of a steering-engine is acted upon by centralizing- springs r with the object of obtaining complete closure of the valve on stopping. A collar q screwed on the spindle g is acted upon by springs r enclosed in a cylinder n, which is mounted between plates m, o on pillars k. The valve is operated by an arm a on the spindle c of the main reversing-valve. A pointer t indicates the position of the valve. The valve is held to its seating by a spring.
