Contacts.-In brushholders of the type in which a brush 4 is slida b l y mounted in a frame 2 and is pressed against a commutator by a spring-actuated arm 5, the part 7 of the latter, which hears upon the brush, is formed separate from the main part and is pressed forwards hy a spring 11 of less strength than the main spring 6. The part 7 is formed in one with a plunger 9 mounted in guides 10, and is preferably provided with upwardly projecting extensions 9', Fig. 5. The invention is particularly applicable to certain types of controllers in which brushes are used.
