Abstract

18,102. Rodell, E. H. Aug. 6. Teeth-cleaning appliances.-Relates to rotary brushing-appliances operated through gearing by a crank handle, and consists in the form shown comprising a main shaft 3 mounted in a bearing 1 and carrying a brush 5 at one end, the gear-wheels and crank handle being situated at the other end. The shaft preferably rotates in roller bearings 4 carried in end ferrules 2, 2'; and the handle spindle is held in lugs 9 on the body 1, which is also provided with a handle 14 for holding the device. The brush may be shaped as shown in Fig. 2 or in Fig. 4, and is frictionally held upon the tapered end of the shaft 3.
