Coating-machines.-In apparatus for feeding blanks to machines for making boxes or packets, the pile of blanks is supported on a table a between standards h, and the bottom blank is fed from the pile by a reciprocating plate a<1>. Passing between the table and the pile are two bands b<1>, which pass over pulleys c and are connected at their ends by a clamp b<2> to the reciprocating plate a'. Outside the belts b<1>, with their faces in contact with the bottom blank, are gumming-shoes d, pivoted on arms d<2> carried by rods d<3>, which are mounted in brackets d<4> and turned to press the shoes d into contact with the bottom blank by springs d<5>. Adhesive is supplied by tubes d<6>.
