(AREA)
Abstract
17,265. Cadett, J. W. T. July 24. Sliding valves.-The throttle-valve for an internal-combustion engine comprises two plates d, e, having orifices i, j therein, and pressed together by a plate n controlled by springs o. The plates d, c have extensions f, g with teeth f<1>, g<1> engaging with teeth on a pinion h, and on rotation of this pinion the plates slide in opposite directions, thus bringing the orifices more or less into coincidence, and maintaining the centre of the opening at a fixed point.
