15,820. Poole, G. R., and Perry, E. W. July 6. Locking nuts.-A washer for locking nuts has a permanent projection d on one face and is shaped so as to be turned hy a spanner. As the nut is screwed down, the washer is pushed round in the position shown in dotted lines; when the nut gets tight, the nut and washer are moved alternately by small amounts. A final partial turn given to the washer leaves it in the locking position shown in full lines.
