Abstract

Piston apparatus for discharging receptacles- Apparatus for supplying liquid disinfectant or other chemical to a supply of water, applicable to spraying-devices, watering carts, &c., comprises a vessel a divided by a transverse partition b into two compartments c, d. The rear compartment c is filled with the liquid chemical, and is fitted with a piston g operated by pressure of water entering through the inlet i<2>, or by a spring. The liquid is forced through an adjustable aperture j in the partition b into the forward or mixing compartment d, which is supplied with water through a valvecontrolled pipe i, and is fitted with a conical baffle n arranged over the outlet pipe f<2> The nozzle f contains a cylindrical block o provided with an external spiral groove p so that it serves to spread or spray the issuing liquid. The apparatus may be employed as a syringe by operating the piston by hand.
