Abstract

15,070. British Thomson-Houston Co., [General Electric Co.]. June 27. Dash-pots.-Relates to dash-pots of the kind in which the area of the restricted liquid passage is varied automatically with change of temperature to compensate for variations in the viscosity of the liquid, and consists in employing a hollow piston 11 in which one end of a ring 14, preferably of the shape shown in Fig. 3, is attached, the other end of the ring moving over a passage 13 in the piston when the ring expands or contracts with change of temperature. The piston is preferably formed of cast iron and the valve ring of brass.
