Abstract
12,869. Westinghouse Metallfaden Gl³hlampenfabrik Ges. June 7, 1911, [Convention date]. Annealing.-Brittle metals or alloys, particularly tungsten or molybdenum, or their alloys, are rendered ductile and malleable by being heated to a high temperature and cooled slowly under pressure. The metal may be embedded in a cold or heated state in a heated mould or a molten mass, for instance iron, and the surrounding material may be afterwards removed mechanically or chemically. Injurious gases may be excluded, for instance by working in a suitable atmosphere.
