Channels and reservoirs in wheels a n d pulleys.-A belt pulley or other wheel is lubricated by oil passing through holes 7 from a chamber 2 to a number of transverse grooves 6 in the bearing - surface of the hub 1. The ends of the grooves 7 lead into shallower circular grooves 5, from which, when the pulley rotates, the oil is returned centrifugally to the chamber 2. The section of the chamber 2 is pearshaped, so that a portion only of the oil that adheres to the walls finds its way to the holes 7.
