Abstract

10,151. Wilton, G. April 29. Liquid-meters.-Sight-feed apparatus for indicating the flow of liquids comprises an upwardly-projecting pipe terminating in a liquidmeasuring weir, a glass bell or frame enclosing the weir, and means for receiving the discharged liquid consisting of a chamber of large dimensions arranged below the weir and fitted with discharge pipes. The liquid passes up the pipe f, Fig. 1, which is provided with a series of perforations f<1>, f<2> arranged to give a definite discharge. A glass bell b is secured above the pipe f. The discharged liquid falls into the chamber a, from which it is drawn off by the pipe h. A pipe may be provided in the main for by-passing the apparatus, and pipes m, m<1> are provided for restoring the normal conditions should flooding take place.
