Abstract

9596. Severson, M. L., and Spiegelberg, W. S. April 23. Search-light, directing. - A search-light 10 is mounted on a vertically rotatable support 3, and is tilted by the vertical movement of a rod 11 which is connected by a bell-crank lever 18 to a longitudinally-movable rod 16. The rod 11 is connected to the search-light by a universal joint, and a ball-and-socket or other universal joint is inserted in the connexion between the bell-crank lever 18 and the rod 16 in order that the rod may be threaded in the tube 7 which operates the gearing 5, 6 for rotating the support 3. The tube 7 and rod 16 are provided with hand-wheels for operating purposes.
