Commutator switching-arrangements.-In a high-tension commutator rectifier for alternating currents, pairs of arc-shaped contacts d' d<3>, d<2> d<4>, connected by conductors e<1> e<2>, are rotated at the same periodicity as the current and wipe over connected pairs of point - contacts f<1> f<2>, f<1>1 f<1>2, f<3> f<4>, f<1>3 f<1>4. The point contacts are connected to the alternating-current supply T and to the direct-current consuming-apparatus R respectively. In a modification, the stationary contacts may be arc-shaped and the rotating contacts reduced to points.
