5699. Dillon, S. V. March 6. Razors, safety. The frame 1 has the guard 6 integrally formed thereon and a lug 4 centrally fixed in which the blacle-holder 19, Fig. 4 is hinged by means of a pin passing through the divided tubular part 21, 22 and through the lug 4, the tubular ends resting on the convex sides 2, 3 of the frames. The flexible blade is clamped against the guard by a plate 5, which is hinged by arms 33 to the side plates 2, 3 and is secured by a nut 13 rotatably mounted in a slotted extension 11 of a head 8 secured to the frame and a bolt 15, which is pivoted to the plate and passes through a hole in the blade and guard. When the blade is in operative position, the head 25 of the hinge pin is secured by a lug on the adjacent arm 33. The distance between the blade and guard is adjusted by the pressure of the clamping-plate. The blade is secured in the holder by a hinged spring plate 30 provided with a spring catch. The screwed extension 17 by which the handle is secured to the head 8 is adapted to screw into one end of the tubular part of the blade holder for stropping.
