' Engaged ' and like indicators.-In order to indicate at night the state of hire of a taxicab, circuits are closed by the movements of the flag so as to illuminate one of two signs. The chambers 1, 2 conspicuously placed have translucent fronts 3 suitably inscribed and contain electric lamps 4 which are thrown into and out of circuit by means of contacts on the flag arm and taximeter. A plug 9 enables the lamps to be cut out when not required.
